Founded in 1999 by Dwight Sandlin and Jonathan Belcher, Signature Homes began in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a simple mission: to build great communities. After completion of our Baton Rouge communities, we quickly expanded our footprint, breaking ground on our first Birmingham community in 2000 and entering the Nashville market in 2012.
In 2016, Signature Homes became an employee-owned company, deepening our commitment not only to the communities we build, but to the people who build them. Our employee owners take pride in every home and every community, knowing their work creates lasting value for both our homeowners and our team.
Today, with over 100 communities across these three states, we have helped more than 10,000 families find their dream home. Dwight and Jonathan are driven by their shared passion for creating communities, not just building houses. While we are dedicated to delivering a beautifully crafted home, our true mission is to provide the enduring sense of community that transforms a home into a lifestyle.
